Programme Policies
The documents below outline the key academic and student-support expectations that guide our IB programme. These policies reflect our commitment to integrity, inclusion, and excellence, and provide families and students with a clear understanding of what is expected — and what they can expect from us. Full PDF versions will be available here shortly.
Academic Honesty Policy
This policy sets out our expectations for original work, proper citation, and responsible collaboration. It explains what academic integrity means in the context of the IB programme, how we define misconduct, and the procedures in place to uphold a culture of honesty and trust across all areas of learning.
Admissions Policy
This policy outlines the eligibility requirements, application process, and selection considerations for students wishing to join the Venice High IB Programme. It ensures that our admissions process is transparent, equitable, and aligned with the principles of the IB.
Assessment Policy
This policy describes the principles that underpin assessment in our programme, including grading practices, the use of formative and summative tasks, feedback approaches, and how student progress is monitored and communicated to families. It reflects both IB requirements and our school’s commitment to meaningful, fair evaluation.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to success in the IB programme. This policy explains our attendance expectations, how absences are recorded and communicated, the process for reporting unavoidable absences, and how consistent participation supports both individual learning and class community.
Inclusion Policy
The Venice High IB Programme is committed to equity, access, and belonging for all learners. This policy describes how we support students with diverse learning needs, our approach to differentiated instruction and additional support services, and the shared responsibilities of students, families, and staff in fostering an inclusive environment.
Language Policy
Language is central to IB learning. This policy explains the role of language acquisition and development within our programme, our commitment to multilingualism and mother-tongue support, and how language learning is integrated across all subject areas to help students communicate effectively and confidently.
